Freelance Friends Spotlight Series
Photography & Creative Direction
In collaboration with Freelance Friends
A photo interview series with Freelance Friends. Each spotlight is a shoot and an interview with one creative.
The approach
A shoot with each person, photographed where they work. The images run with the interview and as standalone content.
The outcome
Portrait and lifestyle photography, used across the Freelance Friends site and social media.
Seye Adelekan
Musician
Seye Adelekan is a musician, born in Nigeria and based in London. He met Damon Albarn through Africa Express in 2012 and has spent the best part of a decade working with him and with Gorillaz, and has played with Paul McCartney, alongside his own releases. We spent the day shooting with him around Homerton.
Gretel Warner
Contemporary fine artist
Gretel Warner paints full time. Her work deals with womanhood, mental health and emotional complexity, and often starts from poetry and written words. We spent the day in her home studio in Essex, photographing her at work and interviewing her for the series.
